Description

French Louis XIV  bracket clock/wall-clock., signed Balthazar Martinot né in Rouen in 1636 and died in Paris in 1716.

This clocks often were hanged on the wall in the period of Louis XIV.

The clock is completely restored and in good working order, it has an ormolu relief decorated brass dial with enamel cartouch Roman numerals ans steel hands. The brass four pillar movement with verge escapement, countwheel striking on a surmounted bell, silk suspended two part pendulum, cycloidal cheeks, backplate signed Balthazar Martinot is fitted in an ormolu mounted case “Boulle” veneered.

The dome top mounted with a set scrolled foliate mounts, glazed sides.

The clock is 60 cm high, 34 cm wide and 14 cm deep.
