Black Forest marriage clock from 1822, with quater of an hour striking.
Black Forest marriage clock from 1822, with quater of an hour striking.
Description
German Black Forest clock with a quater of an hour striking on two bells.
This clock is specially made for a wedding, with the name of the couple (very rare both the same family name) and the date of the wedding.
The clock has an eight day mechanism and is in working order, but not restored, as you see.
The clock is complete with his original weights, pendulum, winding key, it’s missing his doors. I didn’t find a signature of the maker, perhaps inside the clock.
Dimensions of the dial 35 x 21 cm.
